ZigBee implementation for Automotive Industry

This bachelor’s thesis describes possibilities of usage of ZigBee communication protocol in automotive industry, transport and logistics. Thesis also deals with ways of practical implementation of ZigBee protocol including typical cases solutions, designing and realization of necessary electrotechnical devices and modules followed by compilation of control software and experimental measurements of these devices in real traffic flow. In the first part of thesis, there are some basic features and parameters of ZigBee reminded, followed by ways of ZigBee communicator usage description and adumbrating how to perform integration with existing practical systems. The second part is about analysis of ZigBee data system construction, communication system scheme design and pre-projection of block schemes of its particular cells. The third part concretizes requested functions and features of these cells and describes ways of its hardware realization. The fourth section describes controlling software design, connection and controll of functions using PC and additional programs, using of X-CTU software offered by MaxStream Company to set up XBee parameters and using of AVR Studio 4 offered by Atmel Company to set up ATmega16 processor. The last part is taken by completation of hardware and software, tests with a few of XBee chips and network nodes in laboratory conditions and examples from the real traffic range measurement.

Design and realization of wireless interface ODBII-XBee

This master’s thesis describes possibilities of usage of ZigBee communication protocol and integrated circuit ELM 327 in problem of realization universal diagnostic device, running by OBDII communication standards, which can be used to monitor function of all car´s electronic systems. Thesis also deals with design and realization of necessary electro technical devices and modules followed by compilation of control software and experimental measurements of these devices in real traffic flow. In the first part of project, there are reminded some basic features and parameters of OBDII, followed by description of ways how to use OBDII and adumbrating how to realize universal diagnostic system. The analysis of ZigBee system focused on XBee circuits follows. Construction, ways of data transfer and possibilities of controlling are described. Integrated circuits produced by ELM Electronics Company are introduced and possibilities of usage ELM 327 are described as requested by main task. Second part talks about designing of electronic circuits of this system, assembling schematic diagram and designing sources for production of PCB. Physical realization of these circuits and its first start is also included. Thesis finishes by dealing with practical experiences and measurements using real vehicles. This part talks also about means to improve system by several software solutions to reach more effective functioning of created device.

Real-time protocol implementation

Thesis deals with multicast broadcasts, discusses the type of ASM and SSM. Also deals with the principle of RTP / RTCP protocol for large multicast groups, for example, broadcasting IPTV. It was created a model for simulating the behavior of the network load in a large number of receivers. The application was developed in Java and uses the recommendations of RFC3550. There are also analysed processes of communication, initialization, log out, the structure of the data packets and signaling packets. The system is designed that can simulate multicast network and obtain the estimated parameters of the operation, or can operate in real traffic, for example, as a third-party monitor. In both modes, the measurement was carried out model situations. The results of the measurements were then compared. Principle and system control was described in detail. Output measurements are graphically processed and included in the work.

Content analysis of Czech Television broadcasting before the Czech Parliamentary Elections 2021

This thesis deals with the issue of compliance with the principles of objectivity in the broadcasting of Czech Television, namely its news program Události and a series of pre- election debates in the period of one month before the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic in autumn 2021. The research was carried out using the method of quantitative content analysis, the subject of which was the speeches of representatives of the candidate movements and parties, specifically their frequency and length across the both analyzed programs. The analysis was also interested in the presence of politicians' evaluations in the speeches of members of the Czech Television staff, the valence of the questions asked within the debates, the speeches of external speakers within the Události, but also thematic programs. and the space associated with them, which was provided to the individual candidate subjects in the monitored broadcast sample for expression.

Twitch: Interactive Workshop, Café or Billboard?

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze chosen live-streaming platform and the term itself. Particular emphasis is focused on the description of Twitch.tv and its functions. An important segment is the stratification of represented content creators into three archetypal groups. The central element of this thesis is the aspect of interactivity, which defines streaming in all of its forms. Based on this author tries to present streaming as an artistic activity and the individual channels as an artificially created space suitable for easy self-presentation.

Trump vs. Biden - Which side chose Czech TV's stations?

The US presidential election is undoubtedly the most important foreign policy event regularly covered by the Czech media. In the case of the latter, the battle for the White House became one of the main topics of autumn 2020. All three main national broadcasters - TV Nova, CT and TV Prima - joined the battle for viewers. For the first time in history, the election results were broadcast simultaneously on these three TV stations. But what was the practice in the Czech media. In the United States, it is quite standard for media houses to lean towards one of the candidates, that the coverage is pro-Democratic or pro-Republican. This thesis examined how this phenomenon manifested itself in Czech TV stations. Thus, the research questions focused on the number of reports on each candidate, their tone, and the total time devoted to the election itself and to both candidates. Based on the data collection, the thesis assessed that TV stations did not give equal space to both candidates. By far more space was given to Donald Trump at the expense of Joe Biden. Moreover, Trump was more often portrayed in a negative sense. In this respect, Czech Television was the least balanced Czech TV station, while TV Prima was the best. Canadian media: history/genesis and present/contemporaneity

The thesis is focused on key canadian media - print, radio and television, in the individulal chapters I'm trying to describe their development as it is during the formative years and influenced, and what role it plays in today's Canada and which one of them has a privileged position in the country. Before that I was trying to deal with the history of Canada to clarify the roots all Canadian journalism and the media occurred. I also give attention to some selected major Canadian media personalities, whether those from the past and the present, who are in some way involved on what is today Canadian journalism, or the form of it's today. My attention did not miss either: the French-Canadian journalism, which about their form and the place on the map of the Canadian media fought for centuries. Its center is the Canadian province of Quebec. In my work, I also discuss how journalism is taught at several Canadian universities, how much of them offers a learning program and how they teach it. Whether the emphasis is more on theory or more practical. I write also about media education, which has been several years in Canada's history. Last but not least, I tried to map the Czech track in the Canadian media and specifically designate some of expatriate media that readers can find in Canada.

2010 - "Počítáme s dětmi v České televizi": Programmes for Children and Youth in the Czech Television

The diploma thesis "The Year 2010 - Pocitame s detmi v Ceske televizi: Programmes for Children and Youth in the Czech Television" deals with broadcasting for children and youths on Czech Television and focuses on the production of cyclic programmes. It summarizes the production of these programmes since the beginning of Czech Television in 1992 until 2010. The author also describes the structure of production centers in Czech Television that used to produce and are still producing those programmes. Furthermore, the author analyzes the strategy Pocitame s detmi v Ceske televizi which followed the previous projects - "Osudove osmicky v nadich dejinach" (the Fateful Eights in our history) and "Rok svobody" (the Year of Freedom). The analysis consists of an overview of existing, new cyclic and also planned programmes which Czech Television started or planned to broadcast during this strategy. The thesis provides quantitative conclusions such as the amount of all the programmes for children and youths broadcast during the existence of Czech Television, average time spent by children, youths and adults watching TV and especially Czech Television and the share of audience that was watching Czech Television.
